The Flora Scarf
Can anyone else believe its spring already? After a very disappointing New York Winter I am ready for Spring. This lacey scarf was another step out of my colour comfort zone. I am so proud of how this Pistachio Green came out.
What do I need?
To make this scarf all you need is Paintbox Yarns DK cotton or comparable size 3 Yarn. I used 3 colours to create this striped scarf, but you can easily add extra colours to make the scarf wider, creating yourself a shawl.

Attaching Motifs
This scarf will be made using a very simple motif technique. To make it easier to follow you will attach the motifs together as you go. You can create all the squares at once and then attach all at the same time but I find it easier to attach as you go.
Flora Motif
(If making all motifs at once and attaching at the end create 17 motifs row 1-3 in each colour).
Row 1: Using the magic circle technique, sc 16 in the ring.Slst into the first sc.
Row 2:*Ch 4, skip next sc, sc in the next sc* Repeat * around, slst in the first sc. Sl st in the first ch4 space.
Row 3: *Ch5, sc in next ch space, ch6, sc in next ch space* Repeat * 3 times. Sl st into first ch 5 space.
Row 3 will change based on the amount of sides you will need to connect a motif to.
Attach as you go method
To start Create 1 motif (row 1-3) in Colour A.
All Colour A motifs will only need to be attached to one side of the square. Starting with your second motif square follow this alternative row 3.
Attach on one side.
Row 3: *Ch5, sc in next ch space, ch6, sc in next ch space* Repeat * 2 times. Ch 5, sc in next ch space. Ch3, attach to ch 6 space of previous motif using slst. Ch3, sc into ch4 of working motif, ch3, slst into ch5 of previous motif. Ch 2, sc into next ch4 of working motif. Ch3, slst into ch 6 of previous motif, ch3. Sl st into first ch 5 space to join in the round.
Attach on two sides
Row 3: *Ch5, sc in next ch space, ch6, sc in next ch space* Repeat * 1 more time. Ch 5, sc in next ch space. Ch3, attach to ch 6 space of previous motif using slst. Ch3, sc into ch4 of working motif, ch3, slst into ch5 of previous motif. Ch 2, sc into next ch4 of working motif. Ch3, slst into ch 6 of previous motif, ch3. Sl st into first ch6 of the second motif you need to attach to.
Ch3, sc into ch4 of working motif. Ch3, slst into ch5 of second motif, ch 2, sc into ch4 of working motif. Ch3, slst into ch6 of second motif. Ch3, slst into ch4, ch 5, ch6, sl st into ch 5 space to join in the round.
To create the size scarf made in the pictures make 17 motifs in each colour and attach as you go.
To finish you will have a few ends to sew in. This I feel is the most time consuming part of the pattern. Well there you have it, enjoy your light spring scarf!
